Funeral services for Bobbye Cooksey, 87, formerly of Guthrie will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003 at the First Christian Church in Guthrie with Dr. Dennis E. Clark of First Christian Church of Guthrie officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Bobbye was born Oct. 29, 1915 in Lancaster, Tenn. to James and Atla Lancaster. She died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003 at Fountains of Cantibury in Oklahoma City.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Guthrie; the PEO Chapter AY, the Spade and Trowel Garden Club, the Guthrie Chapter No. 12 Order of the Eastern Star and Caney Fork Chapter of DAR.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Lou Cooksey of Guthrie and Toni Cook and husband David of Oklahoma City; one brother, one sister, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howell in 1992; one daughter, Barbara Medley, in 2002; four brothers and three sisters.
Visitation for friends and family will take place Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Smith Funeral Home in Guthrie.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, 402 E. Noble, Guthrie, OK 73044.
