Martha Viola Canning was born in Seward, May 10, 1907, to Charles and Viola Ruhl, and she peacefully passed on to be with the Lord on Jan. 5, 2004. She was blessed to have spent 50 years with her husband, E. J. Canning, before he passed on ahead of her. She was also preceded by two of her six children, Buddy and Charles (Sonny) Cannign. Left to share many wonderful memories are her children Violet and her husband Blair Arnold of Richardson, Texas, Dorothy and her husband Kenneth Swanson, Leslie Canning, and Charles (Don) and his wife Sharon Canning, all of Guthrie.
