Funeral services for Ronald Chambers, 65, of Crescent, Okla., were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2001 at Camp Joy Church with Rev. Van Hudson, Rev. Charles Luster and Rev. Dan Curtis officiating. Interment was in Lawrie Cemetery under the direction of Abernathy Funeral Home of Crescent.
Ronald was born Oct. 25, 1935 in Guthrie, Okla. to Claire and Pauline DuBois Chambers. He died Feb. 9, 2001 in Oklahoma City.
He was a very active member of the Abell Community Church, and a youth and adult Sunday School teacher, and led Bible Study on Wednesday evenings. He was a member of the Board of Deacons and was currently serving as chairman.
Ronald was a farmer and rancher. He enjoyed fishing, raising cattle and all sports, and especially supporting the Mulhall-Orlando basketball teams.
He married Anita (Collins) Chambers on May 2, 1955, in Kingfisher, Okla.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Chambers of the home in Crescent; one sister, Myrna Pollard of Hennessey, Okla.; nieces, Ingrid, Greta, Randi, Debbie, Diane, Jackie and Marla; nephews, Richard, Eric and Kurt.
Guthrie relatives include John and June Chambers, Gerald and Naola DuBois, Earl DuBois, Dick and Dorothy Friend, Vera Collins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jimmy Clifton Chambers.
Pallbearers were Don Coffin, Lloyd Fitzpatrick, Jerry Linson, Dan Ogan, Charlie Gooch, Hubert Plagg and Darrell Miller.
Honorary pallbearers were J.R. Wright, Kenney Williams and Matt Ogan
