Funeral services for Wanita Cunard, 90, of Cescent will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at the First Christian Church of Crescent with Pastor Keith Gordon officiating. Interment will follow in Crescent Cemetery under the direction of Abernathy Funeral Home.
Waunita was born Sept. 20, 1912 in Cooke County, Texas to William Gist and Lula T. Maxwell. She died April 27, 2003 in Crescent.
She attended several rural schools in the Crescent area before graduating from Crescent High School. After high school, she married Raymond Hart, and to this union two sons were born, Aaron and Kenneth.
Waunita was a member of the First Christian Church for years, and was also a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She lived in Crescent all of her adult life, the last several years at the Crescent Care Center until her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, Raymond in 1942, Floyd Yenzer in 1962 and Calvin Cunard in 1975; two sisters and one nephew.
Survivors include two sons, Aaron Hart and wife Connie of Crescent and Kenneth Hart and wife Beverly of Mobile, Ala.; six grandchldren, six great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
