Donald Eugene Doolin, 62, of Guthrie, died October 4, 2003 at Golden Age Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be at Mount Olive Baptist Church Friday, October 10 at 11 a.m., under the direction of Community Funeral Home, Rev. Andrew Gilstrap officiating.
Interment will be at Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Guthrie.
Donald was born in Guthrie on February 12, 1941, to Richard Doolin and Verna (Hamilton) Doolin Wiley.
Donald attended Page Elementary School and Faver High School. He loved music and played trombone in the high school marching band. He also sang with the Doolin Singers and the Everlasting Gospel Singers.
He was a member of United Baptist Church in Seward and an auto mechanic by trade.
He was preceded death by his parents; a stepfather, Wallace Wiley; and a stepdaughter, Venita Smith.
He is survived by one son, Mister Doolin and wife Tara of Germany; one daughter, Samanatha Doolin of Oklahoma City; one grandchild, Madison Doolin of Germany; two brothers, Leon Scarborough and wife Pat, and Bobby Doolin and wife Elmary, all of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Margaret Dancer and Gladys Brown both of Guthrie, one half-sister, Lorene Doolin of Muskogee; and one half-brother, Sam Doolin.
Donald was saved at an early age uniting first with the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and then with the United Baptist Church of Seward. Donald leaves to mourn a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and frends. The family of Donald Eugene Doolin would like to express their gratitude to Golden Age Nursing Home and Mission Hospice for the tender care he received during his illness and the doctors and nurses at Logan Hospital Medical Center and Edmond Regional Hospital.
