Graveside services for Frances Dear, 80, of Guthrie will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at Summit View Cemetery with Dr. Ron Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Frances was born April 12, 1922 in Tahlequah to Charlie and Martha Eagle. She went to be with the Lord on May 20, 2002 in Guthrie.
She married Leon Dear on March 10, 1940. They had two daughters, Mary Marquardt and Leona Beller, and one Son, Samuel Dear.
She was retired from the Guthrie Public School system.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Marquardt and husband Leon of Guthrie and Leona Beeler and husband Fred of Oklahoma City; one son, Sammy Dear of Guthrie; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leon, one daughter, martha Ann, her mother and father, four sisters, one brother and one great-granddaughter.
"It is only a tiny rosebud, a flower of God's design; life, life a rose, starts as just a bud and towards its end the petals fall."
Visitation will take place Tuesday until 8 p.m. and Wednesday until 1 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Guthrie.
