Louis was born on March 24, 1937 and died on September 1, 2003. Louis is survived by his two sons, David Duel of Edmond and Louis Duel Jr. of Guthrie and his daughter Laurie Hollingsworth of Guthrie. He has 4 grandchildren, Lauren Duel, Eric Hollingsworth, Kaylee Hollingsworth and Collin Duel all of Guthrie. He is also survived by 5 sisters; Carol Beth Barnett of Perry, OK, Nilah Grogan of Texas, Ina Morris of Kansas, Lina Sue Lauthers of Oregon, Willa Faucett of Kansas.

Louis graduated from Guthrie High School and attended Oklahoma State University on a football scholarship. He remained a lifelong fan of the OSU Cowboys. He later served his country as a Paratrooper in the U. S. Army. He was a loving father and will be deeply missed by the family and friends he left behind.

Services will be held Friday, September 5, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Summit View Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will be held Thursday 8:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home.
