MULHALL AND VICINITY.
Mrs. C.C. Dick died at her home three miles northwest of Mulhall Tuesday morning January 6, at 3 o'clock. Her disease was consumption. Mrs. Dick has been in poor health for two or three years. About a year ago Mr. Dick sold his farm, a mile west of Mulhall, and fitted up a wagon with the purpose of traveling about with the hope that the outdoor life might benefit his wife's health, but she had become to weak to stand that mode of life, and they settled on a farm in their old neighborhood. Mrs. Dick was a great sufferer and gradually grew worse until about two or three weeks ago she took to her bed and the last struggle was begun that ended in her death. With her family she has lived here since the opening. She was a woman that was highly regarded by her neighbors and acquaintances. She leaves a husband and seven children, two of them married. The funeral took place at the home at 2:30 Tuesday and the remains were taken on the 5 p.m. train to Douglass, Kansas, the home of her father, for interment.
