Funeral services for Virginia M. Dewart, 81, of Guthrie, were held at 10:30 a.m. today at the First Christian Church with Dr. Dennis Clark officiating.
Burial followed in Summit View Cemetry, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
Virginia was born Jan. 18, 1922, in Meridian to Chester and Ollie Kincaid Bradbury. She died Dec. 15, 2003, at the Golden Age Nursing Home.
Virginia worked for J. C. Penney's for 33 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of the First Christian Church, where she was very active in presenting the Passion Play. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Virginia was reared by her grandparents, William and Lucinda Kincaid.
She is survived by one son, Robert Dewart of Guthrie; one daughter, Karen Yancey of Guthrie; four grandchildren, Conna and Marsha Dewart and Tia and Tara Yancey, all of Guthrie, one great-grandchild, Facron Dewart, and many nieces and nephews also, special friends, Dr. Don Vincent and his wife, Vela, of Guthrie.
Virginia wsa preceded in death by six brothers; Herman, Minor, Bob, Max and Buster Bradbury and Cleo Bradshaw, her husband Bob in 1997 and one son, Dale in 1985.
Memorials can be made to the First Christian Church or the Central Oklahoma Christian Camp.
