Charles Elliott, a lifetime Guthrie resident, passed away Dec. 31, 2003, at his home following a brief illness.
Charles was born July 16, 1920, to Warren and Ada (Scheihing) Elliott. During World War II he served his country in the United States Army, 238th Engineers Battalion, and was a recipient of numerous awards and citations. He married Leona Fruedt Oct. 20, 1949, and together the couple owned and operated Elliott Turkey Farm.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Leona; children Linda Ryan, Ft. Gibson, Donna Crissup and husband Philip, Yukon, and Nancy Grantham and husband Richard, Guthrie, seven grandchildren: Joshua and Rebekah Ryan, Jarad Logsdon, Jessica Grantham, Leslie, Brittney and Chelsea Crissup, brother Marvin Elliott, Guthrie; sisters Francis Padgham, Chickasha and Clara Orr, Mulhall.
Viewing will be from 1-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, from 4-7 p.m.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 6 at 2 p.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church 1501 N. Bryant, Edmond.
Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Guthrie
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Mark Lutheran CHurch, Edmond, or a charity of your choice.
