Marguerite E. Elliott: died at the union depot hotel in Kansas City at 8:20 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, 1897, aged 28 years and 8 days. The remains were taken to Frankfort, Kan. For interment.
Mrs. Elliott went from here to Frankfort in August thinking the change would assist in recuperating her failing health. In September she suffered severe hemorrhage of the lungs and her life was despaired of. Her husband, A.C. Elliott, joined her at this time and she so far rallied as to be able to travel and was taken to Deadwood, S.D. Here she seemed to improve for a time, but it was but the dalliance of the dread disease and in the early part of December the dread hemorrhages returned and she determined to return home. She left for Kansas City on Thursday accompanied by her husband and brother, W.B. Dwinnell. She was joined at Atchison by another brother, Frank Dwinnell, of Frankfort, Kan. In spite of all efforts and loving care she sank rapidly during the trip and died soon after reaching Kansas City. Mrs. W.T. Dwinnell was to meet her at Newton but was met at Wichita by a message announcing her death. Her brother, D.C. Dwinnell and Mr. Elliott's brother, Griff attended the funeral at Frankfort on Sunday, Dec. 12.
