Graveside services for Dorothy Mae Hickman Faubush, 82, of Guthrie, Okla., will be held Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill County Line Cemetery, Edmond, Okla. with Lt. Loften Cartus Thornton officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill County Line Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Guthrie.
Dorothy was born Jan. 25, 1919 in Guthrie to Thomas Russell and Cora Lee (Porcupile) Hickman. She died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001 at Integrated Specialty Hospital in Edmond, Okla.
Dorothy had lived in the Guthrie area most of her life. She was a homemaker and retired telephone operator. She also had sold Avon and Tupperware and was very active in local clubs. She was a member of the Alturian Genealogy Club, Iris Garden Club and Division 4 Homemakers Club, and was always running errands for those who could not get around.
She married John Henry Faubush, Sr. on April 6, 1942 in Natchez, Miss. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1998.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Thornton of Guthrie; three sons, John Henry Faubush, Jr. and wife Norma Jean and Richard Faubush, both of Oklahoma City and Thomas William Faubush of Guthrie; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a special cousin, Elsie Hambrook.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Albert J. Martin, one granddaughter, Barbara Lois Renegar; a son-in-law, Tommy G. Thornton; and a great-great-grandson.
Friends and relative may call at the funeral home Monday from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.
