Margaret Elma Flasch
July 10, 1913 - March 7, 2006
Margaret Elma Flasch, 92, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at Cole's Nursing Home, Guthrie, OK. Margaret was born in Broken Arrow, OK, on July 10, 1913 to parents John A. and Theresia (Karner) Freudenberger.
Margaret's family moved to Pleasant Valley, OK., and she attended Pleasant Valley and Coyle Schools and graduated from Coyle High School, Coyle, OK.
Margaret married Otto Arthur Flasch, (who she knew since age 2) on November 8, 1933 and they were lifelong companions. From 1938 to 2004 they lived on a farm west of Coyle, OK.
Margaret was an active member of the Lutheran Womens Missionary League, Victory Home Demonstration Club, Coyle Y.I.M. Study Club, Logan County Farm Bureau Woman's Committee, Coyle Band Boosters and Victory Community Club. She was an accomplished seamstress with many hand stitched quilts and other projects to her credit.
Margaret was a gracious hostess who enjoyed frequent family gatherings and visitors were always welcome.
She is survived by husband, Otto, Guthrie, OK., four children; Mary Beck and husband Raymond, Guthrie, OK, Kathryn Williams and husband, John, Coyle, OK., Linda Lafleur and husband, Ronald, Williamsburg, VA. and Rosalie Weber and husband Martin, Tulsa, OK. Also ten grandchildren: Michael Redman and wife Myra, Yorktown, VA., Raymond Beck and wife Talleri, Mullhall, OK., John (Jay) C. Williams, III and wife Margaret, Muskogee, OK, Melinda Redman, Alexandria, VA., Paul Beck and wife Melissa, Hope, AR., Carl Williams and wife Karen, Coyle, OK, Clark Williams, Stillwater, OK., Carl Williams and wife Karen, Coyle, OK., Clark Williams, Stillwater, OK, Douglas Beck and wife Michelle, Nowata, OK., Geoffrey Weber and wife, Laurie, Cedar Rapids, IA., and Jonathan Weber, Lansing, MI and sixteen great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Margaret and Otto have been lifelong faithful Servants of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Pleasant Valley, OK and Zion Lutheran Church, Guthrie, OK, (after the churches merged).
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 10, 2006 at Zion Lutheran Church, Guthrie, OK, with Pastors Ryan Mills of Zion Lutheran Church, officiating. Intermnet followed at Lutheran Cemetery, Pleasant Valley, OK.
Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Altar fund, 424 East Warner, Guthrie, OK 73044.
