Graveside funeral services for Christopher "Chris" Guther, 88, of Guthrie, Okla., will be held at Summit View Cemetery at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001 with Dr. Ron Jenkins of Community Church officiating. Burial will be in Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie, directed by Smith Funeral Home of Guthrie.

Chris was born on Aug. 7, 1912 in Guthrie to Paul and Ida Guther. He died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001 at 89er Guest House in Guthrie.

He was an avid gardener.

Survivors are his wife Natalie of the home; one son, John Guther and wife Elaine of Guthrie; one sister, Marie Buckley of Guthrie; six grandchildren, Cynthia Waddell, Mike Waddell, Troy Guther and wife Roseta, Tamara Hart and husband Larry, Brandi Walters and husband Wally, Jana Cleary and husband Jay, and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Billie Jo Waddell.

Visitation for friends will be until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Smith Funeral Home.
