Death of Mrs. C.W. Gilfillan
Mrs. Elizabeth Lamberton Gilfillan, wife of Hon. C.W. Gilfillan, died of a complication of diseases at her home on Otter street at 3 o'clock this morning, after a prolonged illness.
Mrs. Gilfillan was aged 61 years and had been a life-long resident of Franklin, being the daughter of Judge Lamberton. She was married to Mr. Gilfillan on November 30, 1858. Besides a husband, two daughters and two sons survive the deceased, as follows: Mrs. E.P. Wilmot, Austin, Texas; Mrs. Charles H. Thomas, W.L. Gilfillan, Franklin; R.E. Gilfillan, Mulhall, O.T.. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Messrs. L.T., R.G., E.H. and Harry Lamberton, Franklin, and Mrs. George P. Hukill, Oil City.
Mrs. Gilfillan was possessed of many excellent traits of character and her home life was full of loving kindnesses. She proved herself to be a kind and devoted wife, mother and sister, and was admired and loved by a large number of acquaintances. She was a consistent member of the Presbyterian church.
The funeral services will be conducted at the late home of the deceased on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, which, as well as the interment, will be private, owing to the enfeebled condition of Mr. Gilfillan-Daily Evening News, Franklin Pennsylvania.
