Funeral services for Harold William (Buddy) Gathers, 71, of Meridian, Okla., will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999 at Community Baptist Church, 512 Seward Rd. and I-35 in Guthrie with Pastor Dan Curtis officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Guthrie under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Guthrie. Gathers was born July 11, 1928 in Meridian to John W. and Opal (McEwen) Gathers. He died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999 at Logan Hospital and Medical Center in Guthrie.

Harold had lived in this area all of his life. He was a farmer-stockman and attended the Baptist Church.

He married Della M. Glidewell December 11, 1961 in Chandler. Survivors include his wife, Della Gathers of Guthrie; two daughters, Jacqueta Edwards and husband Ron and Roxana Ledington and husband Ronald, all of Guthrie; one brother, John M. Gathers and wife Lois of Arcadia; two sisters, Nettie Jean Habben and husband Bud of Luther and Norma Poeling and husband Clifford of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, Jeff Russell, Tina Richardson, Brandon Ledington and Drew Shurtleff and four great-grandchildren, Beth, McKinzie and Koleton Richardson and Ashlyn Ledington.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Clarence Gathers.
