Hazel Sanders Knapp Hoffman, 82, of Crescent, Okla., died Sunday, March 4, 2001 in Edmond, Okla.
She was born Sept. 8, 1918 in Mena, Ark., the daughter of Clifton and Anna Lee (Stidham) Sanders. Hazel attended Longfellow Grade School and Central High School in Muskogee. She was employed by the Veterans Administration in Muskogee, Okla., and in Phoenix, Ariz. for several years. Hazel later worked at International Crystal in Oklahoma City.
Hazel was married to Harvey Knapp during World War II. He was a Lieutenant in the Air Force and was killed while training. Hazel and Robert Hoffman were married about 25 years when he passed away in July of 1998.
Mrs. Hoffman is survived by a sister, Rubye Lievsay; two nephews, Rick and Arlan Lievsay and Thomas Lee Lievsay of San Jose, Calif. Thomas Lee has three sons, Danny of Tracy, Calif., Deric of San Leandrs, Calif., and David Scott Lievsay of Mt. Airy, N.C. and a host of cousins.
There will be viewing from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.Tuesday at Abernathy Funeral Home in Crescent. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home in Muskogee.
