Funeral services for Randall E. "Red" Hadley, 79, of Guthrie, will be Thursday, Jan. 15 at 2 p.m. at Davis Funeral Chapel under the direction of Davis Funeral Home, Guthrie, Rev. Van Hudson officiating. Burial will be at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie.
Randall was born Aug. 11, 1924, in Tecumseh to Ernest and Icy Lee (Cook) Hadley. He married Evelyn Elizabeth Williams Dec. 2, 1947, in New Mexico. He died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, at Edmond Specialty Hospital, Edmond.
Red had been a resident of Guthrie since 1960, moving here from Tecumseh. He was a truck driver for Leeway Motor Freight in Oklahoma City until retirement in 1984. In 1985, he opened Red's Small Engine Repair, repairing outdoor power equipment. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, fighting in Belgium with Company A, 309 Infantry, and was the recipient of the Bronze Star. He was a member of the Teamsters Union. Red was an amputee as a result of a combination of truck driving and having his feet frozen during the war, he had his left leg taken off below the knee and all of the toes on right right foot.
Survivors include a son: Randy Hadley, Harrison, Ark.; two brothers: Darrell Hadley and J. D. Hadley, Oklahoma City; a sister; Norma Jean Butler, Oklahoma City; four grandchildren: David Cramer, Michael Cramer, ERic Hadley and Stacy Sparks; a very good friend, Evelyn Stewart; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Randall was preceded in death by his Wife Evelyn in 1992, his parents, a brother: Leroy (Soney) Hadley i 1942, and a daughter: Susie Hadley in 1987.
