Friday, March 28, 1902

William Neidig Huffman was born in Miami county, Kansas, July 8, 1868, died at McLouth, Kansas, March 20, 1902, age 33 years, 7 months and 20 days.
He was converted and joined the United Brethern church at Meriden, Kansas at the age of twelve years.
He was married on August 7, 1891, to Nora E. Mathews. To them were born four sons.
The immediate cause of his death was malignant tumor. The first symptoms of this ailment appeared December 24, 1901. Human skill was unable to stay its rapid progress. With great patience he endured his suffering, expressed an entire confidence in God and a ready submission to his providence. Many times during his sickness he engaged with his loved friends in song and prayer service.
The day before his death, as he called his loved ones for a final farewell on earth, a halo of glory beamed from his face and great peace filled his heart.
He leaves father and mother, three brothers and two sisters, a wife and four sons to mourn their loss, but not without hope. The family were all present during his sickness except one brother, Nathan H. Huffman, now in Porto Rico.
The funeral services were held in McLouth, Kansas, Friday afternoon, March 21st.
Mr. Huffman was assistant cashier of the Mulhall State Bank for about a year and has made many friends in both his business and social life who honor him for his business integrity, his gentlemanly manner and christian spirit. The Enterprise together with Mr. Huffman's many friends extend to the bereaved relatives sympathy in the great sorrow.
