GONE TO REST.
Died at her home in Mulhall, Okla., Tuesday morning, March 31, 1903, Hulda A. Judd, wife of Elder Wm. Judd.
Mrs. Judd was born May 5, 1837, in Buchanan county Missouri. At the age of 13 she was converted and joined the M.E. church. Her first marriage was to J.H. Mize with whom she came to Oklahoma at the opening of old Oklahoma and settled on a claim four miles north of Mulhall. Here her husband died in 1891; with him she had gone thru the hardships of making a home in the new country, and all who knew her will testify that she had done her part. She was the mother of seven children, five boys and two girls; of these, three were with her at the death of the father and husband. She was again married to her now bereaved husband, Wm. Judd, October 15, 1891. About this time, Mr. Judd, who is an elder in the Christian Disciples church, organized a church at Orlando and the deceased put her letter into that organization and has since been recognized not only by the organization with which she had cast her lot, but among all Christian people as an humble, consisant follower of Christ, exemplifying a christian profession before her family, her husband, and the community. Hers was a faithful life. Her last sickness was brought on by getting wet in the rain one evening going from the meetings at the hall. She had been suffering with pleurisy, exposure brought on a renewal of the attack which soon developed into pneumonia, and after a few days of struggle between life and death, she fell asleep. Her last breath was without a struggle as those who were watching did not think but that she was sleeping naturally. The funeral was largely attended from the M.E. church, Elder Tabor preaching from the text, "O death, where is thy sting; O grave, where is thy victory." The remains were laid to rest in Roselawn cemetery.
