Mr. Mons Johnson died Tuesday at the home of his brother Pete. Mr. Johnson has been sick for some time. He was an old settler here and was highly esteemed by all who knew him. He leaves a daughter, Miss Elsie, and two sons, Lewis and Oscar, to mourn his death. The remains were laid to rest Wednesday in the McNally graveyard. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of the neighborhood.
Mons Johnson died at the home of a brother in Bismark township, September 2, at 9 o'clock in the morning. Mr. Johnson lived on his farm 8 miles northwest of Mulhall for several years. On account of failing health he sold out about a year ago and went to Moran, Kansas, he also went to Colorado expecting to be benefited, but his disease, consumption, had taken too strong a hold on him and he grew worse. About three weeks ago he returned here but gradually sunk away. Mr. Johnson was an industrious man and a good citizen.
