Funeral services for Opal Johnson, 100, of Coyle will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2003 at Smith Memorial Chapel with Dr. Dennis E. Clark of First Christian Church of Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Coyle under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Opal was born July 18, 1902 in Payne Cunty, Oklahoma Territory to James and Mary Parks. She died Friday, March 7, 2003 at Golden Age Nursing Home in Guthrie.
Opal was a lifetime resident of Coyle and a member of the First Christian Church of Guthrie.
She is survived by a niece, Mrs. Robert (Twila) Priess, Jr. of COyle, and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade M. Johnson, two sisters and three brothers.
Visitation for family and friends will take place Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. and Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Okalhoma Medical Research Foundation, 824 E. 13th St., Oklahoma City, OK 73104
The casket will not be opened after the services.
