Friday, February 7, 1902

CALLED IN YOUNG MANHOOD.
At one o'clock Friday morning, January 31, 1902, Arthur Lobdell, one of Mulhall's prominent young men, died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.W. Lobdell. Although Arthur had been sick for several days, yet his death was a surprise to his many friends. Diphtheria was the fatal disease.
The deceased was born at Avilla, Indiana, February 3, 1881. He came with his parents to Mulhall a few years ago. A short time before he died he became an equal partner with his father in the transfer business. He was a member of Mistletoe Lodge No. 21, K. or P. and was faithfully filling one of the official positions in his lodge.
The funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church Friday afternoon. Rev. G.A. White, the pastor, preached an eloquent sermon paying due honor to the dead. The body was laid to rest in Rose Lawn cemetery in the presence of a large number of sympathizing friends.
Arthur was a noble boy and he will be missed among those with whom he associated. The grieved parents have the sympathy of our people in this hour of sad bereavement.
