A PIONEER GONE

Edmond Freshour Lewellen was born in Indiana, Feb. 19, 1853. He came to Kansas in early manhood. Was married to Miss Fannie Campbell, April 13, 1879. To this marriage were born eight children, two of whom have died, Lizzie, aged two years, and Ona, aged twenty-five years.
Mr. Lewellen came to Oklahoma in 1889 and settled on the farm southeast of Mulhall, where he continued to reside until his death Sept. 17, 1924. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. Lestie Faires, Shamrock, Okla.; Roy Lewellen, Oilton, Okla.; Mrs. Edna Warren, Mulhall; Elmer Lewellen, Orlando; and William Lewellen, Mulhall. There is one brother, Al Lewellen, of Oklahoma City and a sister, Lucy Long of Yale, Okla.
Mr. Lewellen had been a member of the Antioch Christian since 1896.
Funeral services were held at the late residence. Sermon by Rev. L.J. Anthis, of Guthrie. The body was laid to rest in Rose Lawn Cemetery.
