Rites for John G. Liebhart, 83, pioneer bakery owner and resident of Guthrie for 63 years, were held Wednesday afternoon in the Davis funeral home chapel.
Mrs. Cora Lindsey, Church of Christ, Scientist, reader, conducted private services, and burial was in Summit View Cemetery. Liebhart died Monday at his home, 409 S. Division.
He was a native of Boonville, Mo., and came to Guthrie in 1892, establishing his first bakery on the east side of the present federal block. When the post office was enlarged about 1910, that location had to be vacated, and he then built a wholesale bakery at the home address which he operated until his retirement in 1927.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Traband Liebhart, of the home; one daughter, Ethel Maude Liebhart, Oklahoma City, and two sons, Harold A. Liebhart, Bell, Calif., and Earle J. Liebhart, Guthrie.
