Funeral services for Katie Emily Leach, 89, of Orlando, Okla. will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999 at First Baptist Church in Mulhall, Okla. Pastor Troy Taylor and Pastor Troy Withey will officiate. Burial will be at Marena Cemetery in Stillwater, Okla., under the direction of Strode Funeral Home.

Katie was born Sept. 14, 1910 in Stillwater to Wilbur and Emma (Williams) Lile. She died Nov. 24, 1999 at Perry Memorial Hospital.

Katie married Emil Anderson Leach on August 12, 1930 in Perry, Okla.

She was raised on a farm east of Stillwater and attended and graduated from Stillwater High School. She also attended Oklahoma A&M. She wrote a book that portrayed her talent and closeness to God, called "Poems and Prayers by Katie."

She enjoyed writing poems and being with her family. She was a homemaker and lived in Payne County most of her life and was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Mulhall. She had eight children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one grandson, Royce Leach; two brothers, Merl Lile and Johnie Lile; and three sisters, Opal Devine, Jenny Rossander and Gracie McCarty.

She is survived by Don Lile Leach; Eula Mae Lindsey and her husband Caleb; Gene M. Leach and his wife Earlene; Lela Fay Holzer and her husband Glen; Katherine Ann Dorsett and her husband Stephan; Calvin A. Leach and his wife, Cheryle; Kenneth Ray Leach and his wife Cindy; Gale Louise Scott and her husband Fred; her sister, Ruth Geller Brown; 32 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
