Graveside services for Eda Mae McCoy, 92, of Guthrie were held at 2 p.m. Friday, OCt. 5, 2001 at Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie with Dr. Dennis Clark officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.
McCoy was born in Orlando, Okla. on Feb 12, 1909 to Ednie Voria and Anna Louise (Zeller) Nida. She died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001 at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City.
Eda Mae lived in Perry and Guthrie most of her life. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Perry. She was a house-wife and homemaker. She could often be found doing something for others; baking, sewing or visiting. She loved watching sports.
She married M. F. (Ted) McCoy on Dec. 11, 1926 in Dover. He preceded her in death March 27, 1953.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and eight brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Theda and husband Ray Power of Abilene, Kan. and Lu Ann and husband Bill Wade of Guthrie; three sisters, Laura Kennedy of Perry, Lucille Updike of Broken Arrow and Katherine Klinglesmith of Perry; one brother, John and wife Vivian Nida of Perry; six grandchildren, Sheri Power of Guthrie, Ted Power of Cincinnati, Ohio, Susan Hall of Chapman, Kan., David Duel of Edmond, Laurie Hollingsworth and Luke Duel, both of Guthrie, and eight great-grandchildren.
