Services for John C. "Jack" McEwen, Jr., 76, of Guthrie, will be Monday, Dec. 1 at Davis Funeral Home. The Rev. Denis G. Hanrahan will officiate.

Burial will follow at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie.

Jack was born July 12, 1927, in (Ogdensburg, New York, to John C. and Frances (Spears) McEwen, Sr. He died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, in Guthrie.

Jack had lived in Guthrie since 1976 moving here from Oklahoma City. He was a heat and air contractor and owner of Arrow Sheet Metal. He retired in 1990. He was a member of the Ogdensburg Masonic Lodge and a volunteer fireman for the Ogdensburg Fire Dept. for many years. He also was a volunteer for the Logan County Election Board. He donated blood as often as he could and when his rare blood type was needed. He loved and enjoyed his family and his dog, Mitzi.

Jack married Frances Mary Maine on Jun 28, 1950, in Ogdensburg, N. Y.

He is survived by his wife, Frances McEwen of the home, Guthrie; a son, John R. McEwen and wife Vicki, Nashville, Tenn.; eight daughters, Jane Frank and husband Joseph, Canton, New York, Barbara Hiff, Sachse, Texas., Mary Ellen Schulte, Tulsa, Peggy Sauders and husband Jerry, Denton, Texas, Catherine Tresler and husband Mark, Guthrie, Maureen Sapp, Guthrie, Nancy Neimeier and husband Steve, Tulsa, Anne Marshall and husband Patrick, Guthrie; two brothers, Edward McEwen, Ogden, Utah and Bert McEwen and wife Betty, Ogden, Utah; eighteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard McEwen.
