Funeral services for Linas G. Moad, 82, of Guthrie will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2003 at the Community Funeral Home Chapel in Guthrie with Pastor Ed McCoun officiating. Burial will follow in Summit View Cemetery under the direction of Community Funeral Home.
Moad was born January 8, 1921 in Carney to Albert Calvin and Allie Mae (Gatlin) Moad. He died May 18, 2003 at Cole's Nursing Home in Guthrie.
He grew up in Carney on a farm, and lived in the Guthrie area most of his life. He was a member of the Church of God and Light thru the Gospel.
Linas served in the U. S. Army during World War II as a gun crewman. he received the Good Conduct Medallion and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one star.
Survivors include three brothers, Sidney, Hanford and Harry; and one sister Bessie Abbey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and one sister.
Viewing will take place Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
