The subject of this sketch, Mary McNeill, born at Lawrence, Indiana, January 22, 1831. Deceased departed this life March 5, 1900, aged 69 years, 1 month and 13 days. She joined the M.E. church at 12 years of age. All who knew her says she lived a consistent Christian life. She was married to George H. McNeill, October 9, 1853. Her husband, one son and two daughters survive her. They came to Oklahoma at the opening and faced the hardships of a pioneer life till the mother's race was run, leaving husband, son and daughters, with a large circle of friends to mourn the loss of a good wife, a loving mother and a kind neighbor. But wait a little while and that mother will stand on the other shore and be able to say, "Death is vanquished and His sting shall be withdrawn, then all the nations can shout victory over the grave." Let us be wise, we are given this victory through the Lord Jesus Christ.
