Tractor Mishap Fatal For County Man 71 Years Old
Funeral services were pending at Davis Funeral Home Thursday for S. E. "Bert" Marshall, 71, who died when pinned beneath a tractor while working hear his home three miles east of Guthrie Wednesday.
Marshall's body was found about 6:30 p. m. Wednesday by a grandson, Tommy Marshall, after family members became alarmed when he had failed to return home.
The victim had left home at 1 p. m. to do some mowing in a pasture. Tracks indicted the tractor overturned when the wheel on one side ran off an embankment.
A member of the Methodist chruch Marshall came to Guthrie in 1942 from Crescent.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Julia Marshall of the home; four sons, Verne, Guthrie; Tom, Kingfisher; Clyde, Barcelona, Venezuela; Jean, Russelville, Ark., four daughters, Mrs. Glen Stoolfire, Crescent; Mrs. Edith Boosten, New York City, N. Y., Mrs. Joe Vitale, Oklahoma City; Mrs. P. Van Wicker, Guthrie, and seven grandchildren.
