Dolph E. Oswald was born to Erhard Oswald and Henrietta Dolph Oswald on APril 14,1 918, in Mokena, Ill. and departed this life at his home on Feb. 27, 2004, in Guthrie.
Dolph and Edith Jenkins were united in marriage on Oct. 10, 1942, at Stroud, and to this union four daughters were born Shirley, Kathryn, Cynthia and Melissa.
Dolph is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Edith; three daughters, Shirley and husband, Walter Romasz, Oklahoma City, Kathryn and husband Jim Smith, Guthrie, and Cynthia Arnold, Gulf Breeze, Fla., six grandchildren, Jason Smith, Aaron Smith and Jill Horton and her husband Shane, all of Guthrie, Sara, David and Ian Vaughan, all of Edmond; three great-grandchildren, Julian Smith, Devon and Kaitlyn Horton all of Guthrie; a brother-in-law, Hanford C. Jenkins and wife Thelma; and sister-in-law, VIolet Arnold, all of Guthrie.
His daughter Melissa Grigg preceded him in death, as did his brother Harry J. Oswald.
Dolph worked as a linotype operator for the Oklahoma Printing Company in Guthrie, and the Times Journal and Southwest Stationery, Oklahoma City from which he retired.
Memorials may be made to any of the memorial funds at First Christian Church, 402 East Noble, Guthrie, OK., 73044, or the charity of your choice.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church, Guthrie. Burial followed at Summit View Cemetery under the direciton of Smith Funeral Home, Guthrie.
