POWERS SERVICES HELD ON TUESDAY
Floyd Powers, well known Guthrian died Saturday afternoon in the Cimarron Valley Wesley hospital, a victim of blood poisoning. The fatal infection followed a slight cut in the right hand.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Smith and Gooch funeral home, with Rev. Everett Poole, pastor of the First Presbyterian church officiating. The body was taken to Tryon, where rites were held at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Wallace Linton, of Hennessey in charge. Burial was made in the cemetery at Tryon.
Powers was 39 yeas of age at the time of his death. He is survived by the widow, Ethel Power, and three children Floreine, Bob and Donald. Power's home was at 323 N. Oak Street.
Powers had been operating the market on the Red Bird grocery and market, 108 E. Oklahoma Ave. for more than a year.
