Leon Pulliam, 76, of Perry, was the son of Herbert Richard and Alta Belle (Rozell) Pulliam.
He ws born July 8, 1927, in Anthony, Kan., and died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004 in Green Valley Nursing Home.
Leon married the former Deloris Mae Lawson Oct. 31, 1948, in Newkirk. He was a signal maintainer for the Santa Fe Railroad until he retired in 1988. Leon served in the Merchant Marines from 1945 - 1947. He was a member of the Church of Christ and the Sojourner Missions. He also enjoyed building dollhouses and forts for his precious grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at the Church of Christ. Gerald Steward and Gene Owen will officiate. Committal services will be at 2 p.m. at Highland Cemetery in Pawnee. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home.
Memorial may be made to the National Evangelism with Sojourners/Church of Christ Sojourner Mission in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home.
Leon is survived by his wife, Deloris Pulliam; one son, Richard Joe Pulliam and his wife, Diane, of Perry; two daughters, Kathleen Dianne (Kathy) Pulliam Montgomery and her husband, Steve and Diann Marie Pulliam Owen and her husband, Gene, all of Guthrie; four grandchildren, Trinity White and her husband, Kris, of McKinney, Texas, Aaron Montgomery of Guthrie, Stacey Parker and her husband, Keith, of Abilene, Texas, and Steven Owen and his wife, Cindy, of Guthrie; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Julia Pulliam Dunn of Ponca City; five nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Richard and Alta Belle Pulliam, and one brother, Marion Pulliam.
