Mildred Lucretia Patterson, 91, of Guthrie, passed away Friday, March 26, 2004.
She was born July 30, 1912, to Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Patterson. She graduated from Guthrie High School in 1929 and then attended Okalhoma City College of Law and received her Juris Doctor Degree. She was admitted to the bar in 1945, elected County Judge in 1955, and after legislative reform became Associated District Judge in 1969. She edited the official Session Laws of Oklahoma for a period of 10 years. She retired in December of 1974 after 20 years on the Bench. She then operated a craft and gift shop with her sister Ruth until 1986.
She was active in church and community affairs. She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Guthrie since 1921 and a member of Macklin Guild.
She was a member of Order of Eastern Star, Guthrie Chapter # 12 and the Grand Cross of Color. She was also a member to HCE, Town and Country Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Patterson; two sisters, Mary Elodee and Ruth Moyne; a brother, Robert F. Patterson; two half-brothers, Perry H. and Allen J.; two nephews, Robert Charles and Robert Warren, and two nices, Betty Jean Ravitz and Norman Holyfield.
She is survived by her niece-in-law, Inez Patterson, and her great-nephew, Warren Duke Patterson and wife Anna.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 30 at the First Christian Church, Guthrie, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Summit View Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Guthrie.
