Funeral services for Robert "Bobby" C. Powers, 52, of Crescent, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at First Addembly of God in Guthrie with Pastor Don Gatlin officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Cherokee Municipal Cemetery in Cherokee under the direction of Community Funeral Home.
He was raised in Ohio and served his country in the U. S. Army for three years, serving in Korea in 1968. He was employed with the Santa Fe Railroad in bridge construction beginning in 1971 and retired in 1994. He was a member of the VFW Post No. 4578. He enjoyed playing cards, watching sports and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Tamera, of the home; his mother; one stepson, Robby Harris of Stanton, Texas; two stepdaughters, Rachelle Munguia and husband Joey of Lubbock, Texas and Kimberly Harris of Guthrie; two grandchildren, Jaiden and Teagan Munguia; three brothers, Larry Powers of Guthrie, Richard Powers and wife Peggy of Fowler, Ohio and Bill Harrison and wife Carol fo Cortland, Ohio; one sister, Mary Friend and husband Robbie of Guthrie; two nephews, Keith Carroll of Guthrie and Brian Holmes and wife Gayla of Wichita, Kan.; one niece, Angela Irwin of Oklahoma City; one great-nephew, Ethan Carroll of Bentonville, Ark.; three great-nieces, Megan Irwin of Guthrie and Desirae and Danielle Carroll of Bentonville, Ark.; and a very good friend, Allen Wilson.
