Clita Velma Richards, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Norris, was born in Logan county, Okla., Oct. 4, 1904, and passed away at Rocky Ford, Colo., August 3, 1921, aged 16 years, 9 months and 29 days.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Claude Richards, on January 4, 1920. Those left to mourn the loss of a loved one are husband, father and mother, and two brothers, besides a great many other near relatives.
One brother preceded her to the Great Beyond about a year ago.
For many months, Clita's health had been rapidly failing, and after all medical skill proved unsuccessful in combating her disease, she was taken to Colorado, in hopes that the climate might prove beneficial, but all human efforts were unavailing.
Throughout all her suffering, she was always patient, and when the end was near, she calmly gave up, telling the loved ones around her she was ready and willing to go, even making final arrangements.
She united with the Christian Church over a year ago, and remained faithful until her death. So, while her dear ones are grief-stricken at her early departure, they weep not as those without hope, for by faith they know she now lives in that Heavenly home, where all sickness and suffering is over, and all is perfect rest.
Funeral services, which were conducted by Rev. Reece, of Shawnee, assisted by Rev McGehee, of Crescent, were held at the Christian church in Crescent, Okla., on Aug. 6th, 1921, at 2 p. m. A very large concourse of friends were present. The remains were laid to rest in the Crescent cemetery.
