William Lewis Rhodes was born at Vermont, Illinois, February 15, 1855. His early boyhood days were spent with his parents in Vermont. When about sixteen years of age he went to Peoria, Ill., where he remained until the gold rush to Colorado, going then to Leadville. On November 21, 1881 he was united in marriage with Marguerite Olive Wisby of Columbus, Kansas. Mrs. Rhodes preceded her husband in death October 23, 1909. Mr. Rhodes is survived by three sons, Fred W., Roy W., and Ralph E. all of this city, a daughter, Mrs. Claude C. Sibertly of Cushing, a brother William J. Rhodes and a sister, Mrs. Laura Wilmouth of Redlands, Cal.
