Funeral services were held Monday morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Smith in this city, Rev. George O. Nichols, former pastor of the First Presbyterian church of the city and Rev. Coleman, local pastor of that church officiating. Interment was made in Summit View cemetery.
The funeral was largely attended by Guthrie citizens, former neighbors and friends of the family and by many friends and relatives from Tulsa, Oklahoma City and other places. The Smith family were residents of Guthrie many years. Dr. Smith grew up here from boyhood. Mrs. Smith came to Guthrie a bride and for many years was an active spirit in church work, social circles and civic life. She had hosts of friends in the city who mourn her departure and whose sympathy goes out to the husband, two daughters, brother and sisters whose hearts are today filled with sorrow.
