Last rites for J. C. Shaffer, prominent Logan County farmer living south of Crescent, were held Wednesday afternoon in the Christina Church at Crescent, with Rev. A. A. Harman, pastor of the church officiating. Shaffer died Tuesday in the Cimarron Valley Wesley hospital in Guthrie after a long illness.
Mr. and Mrs. Shaffer have lived on their farm near Crescent for the past 31 years. The family came to Crescent from Nebraska in 1898. In 1931 Mr. And Mrs. Shaffer celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Surviving are the widow, one daughter, Mrs. George Goodhue; two sons, J. W. Shaffer and F. L. Shaffer, all of Crescent.
