Graveside services for Naomi R. Smith, 75, of Meridian will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2003 in Summit View Cemetery with the Rev. Dan Curtis officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Smith was born April 22, 1928 in Nugent, Texas. She died Thursday, April 24, 2003 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.
She was a volunteer fire dispatcher for the Meridian Fire Department until 2002. She liked to work in her gardens and loved to play and see her grandchildren. She helped with volunteer work for the Red Cross at home with lap pads for the elderly.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother and two brothers.
Survivors include five sons, Clarence Ray Sullivan and wife Mary of Arizona, Eddie Smith and wife Carol of California, Paul Ray McConnell and wife Sandy of New Mexico, David L. McConnell and wife Ada of Coyle and R. Wayne Smith and wife Norma of Stillwater; two daughters, Mary Y. Elliott and husband of New Mexico and Kathryn Ann Smith of the home; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
The casket will not be opened at any time.
