May 6, 1915

Oklahoma City, Okla., May 15-Dr. John Threadgill, 67 years old, master of finance, statesman and prominent physician, died suddenly Friday afternoon at his home, 92 North Robinson Avenue.
For many years Dr. Threadgill has been one of the most prominent citizens of Oklahoma City. He was a leader in politics and civic movements, organizer of several large financial firms and builder of one of the largest hotels in the city. A path of success has marked his way through an active career in real estate; and the innate ability with which he was endowed was proved by his achievements in other lines of venture. Dr. Threadgill had been a citizen of Oklahoma City since 1901.
Dr Threagill took his usual walk into the city Friday morning and returned to lunch about noon. Shortly after noon he went upstairs to his room, stating that he was feeling tired. Shortly afterwards, his daughter, Miss Frances Threadgill who was in the front of he house heard him scream. She rushed to his room and found him prostrate across the bed. Medical attention was immediately summoned and his wife called to his side.
He died before physicians could arrive, only his daughter and his wife being at the bedside. Dr. Threadgill has been troubled with his heart for some time, it is stated, but his ailment was not believed to have been serious.
