Martha Wells passed away the afternoon of July 23, 2005. Martha was born in Guthrie, Oklahoma, on October 3, 1908. She was the youngest of 11 children from a wonderful family , which included seven sisters and four brothers.

Martha was known for her happy disposition, keen sense of hunor and cheerful outlook on life.

She was most happy when with family and friends. Martha was an accomplished "whistler" and was able to whistle many tunes of the 1930's, '40's and '50's. She had a lilting laugh when amused.

She is survived by her only son, Harvey J. Wells, Jr. (Virginia), grandson Robert S. Wells (Christine), granddaughter Susan L. Lynch (Sean), great granddaughter Kathleen R. V. Wells, great grandson Brien S. Lynch, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2005, at 2:00 p.m., at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 14th and Ocean Park Boulevard, in Santa Monica.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
