Patsy Washburn of Guthrie, OK passed away on March 27, 2006 after a lengthy illness. She was a certified nurse and in her earlier years she traveled to Central America with a medical mission team to serve the needs of remote populations. Patsy was a docent for the Oklahoma Historical Society for many years and participated in various reenactments and events. Her talents included the early home-making skills such as weaving, spinning, tatting, baking and gardening. Patsy loved Jesus with all her heart and leaves behind a long list of family and friends.
One of our favorite memories was when she wanted a bigger house for all her projects.
Dad came in with a chain saw and cut down two walls and said that this was the biggest the house was going to get. After four days of cleanup and professionals cleaning the rooms and vents, they continued with their "room addition".
Patsy was the wife and loving partner of Phillip Washburn. The mother, friend, confidant, and prayer warrior to her daughters, Terry, Lori, and Lisa. The grandmother to Chad, Amie, Nathan, and Ethan. She will be greatly missed. Patsy is with Jesus now, all her aches and pains gone.
Memorial services were held Friday, March 31, 2006, at 10:00 A.M. at Smith Memorial Chapel.
Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home Guthrie.
