Graveside services for Olive Lawyer York, 91, of Guthrie, Okla. will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery South in Marshall, Okla. Services will be officiated by Pastor Chris Humphreys under the direction of Abernathy Funeral Home of Crescent, Okla.
Olive was born Nov. 26, 1907 near Dover, Okla., to William and Maude Lawyer. She passed away Sept. 29, 1999 in Guthrie.
Olive was a homemaker and farmer. She was a graduate of Hennessey High School and married Floyd York of Marshall in 1927. They lived on a farm near Marshall for 14 years and bought a farm west of Guthrie in 1946.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Floyd; one infant sister; two sisters, Hazel Dodd and Myrtle Hugo; one nephew, Bill Wheeler; and two nieces, Mary Burns and Georgia Ann Osteen.
Olive is survived by one daughter, Wilma Lord; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Tom and Tracie Byrd; two great-grandsons, Jeremy and Michael Byrd; one sister, Christine McCourt; one sister-in-law, Aloris Heckerman, and many nieces and nephews.
Olive was especially loved by two of her nieces, Delores Haley and Sharon Cutter and their families.
Friends may call at Abernathy Funeral Home until 8 p.m. tonight and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
