The reservation occupied by the Pottawatomie Indians in the southern part of Jackson county, comprises about 78,000 acres, and the Kickapoo reservation in Brown County, comprises about 20,000 acres. The Pottawatomie number 550 and the Kickapoo 300. The commission appointed last summer to allot these lands and to purchase the surplus has failed to accomplish anything. A new commission will probably try it over again. Until then the canine family of Brown county will live in perpetual dread of the red man's spite
