View of the Water Tower from "Silk Stocking Street" Don't know the name of the street, I think it is 7th. When my mother was young, during WWII she told me the street was called "Silk Stocking Street" due to the fact while most ladies were putting on leg make-up and painting on the seam up the back side of the leg, the people that lived in this area still had hosery.
