Louis Doll Pound passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at the Pushmataha Hospital in Antlers, at the age of 78 years.
Louis was born January 24, 1926 in Miller, to the late Oscar Newman Pound and Annie Lue Holder Pound. Louis has lived in the area all of his life. On December 20, 1957 he married Lois Velma Van Meter; they have spent the last Forty-six years together.
Louis was a member of the First Baptist Church of Antlers. He worked as a Carpenter and also as a tollgate attendant for The Indian Nation Turnpike from which he retired.
Louis is survived by his wife Lois and one son, Phillip Pound, and wife Deborah of Hugo. One daughter, Sheila Vaughan and husband Rusty of Antlers. One brother James Pound and wife Sue of Miller. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Annie Pound. Two sons Larry Pound and Gary Pound. Two brothers Oscar L. Pound and Lee Pound.
Services where held at First Baptist Church, Antlers, Oklahoma. Officiating were Reverend Donny Day and Reverend Sam Dyer. Musical selections by the First Baptist Mens Quartet. Pallbearers: Dean Mathews, Boyce Couch, Hardy Dickerson, Curtis Wayne Lawless, Almurn Lawless and Sam Smith. Final Resting Place: Antlers City Cemetery, Antlers, OK
