Norman C. Alley, 69-year-old Richmond, Texas resident and former Mooreland resident died Sunday, April 22, 2007 in the M.D. Anderson Hospital, Houston, Texas. Graveside funeral services with full military honors being provided by the United States Air Force will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2007 in the Mooreland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home Woodward.

Norman Claire Alley was born on August 13, 1937, at Woodward, Okla.; he was the son of Claire and Betty (Scott) Alley. Norman attended Mooreland grade school and high school. Norman enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1955. He was united in marriage to Leola Clayton in 1956. Norman spent 22 years in the Air Force, he was in the Strategic Air Command. He was a Viet Nam veteran and was presented with the Bronze Star. After Norman‚s retirement he went to work for General Electric Engineering Division, where he traveled with his wife Leola to Paris France, Florence and Rome, Italy. After 25 years Norman retired and continued to do consulting work for various engineering companies.

He was a member of the St. Johns United Methodist Church in Richmond, Texas. He was also a member of the following organizations, General Electric Elfun Society, VFW and the Air Force Sgt. Association.

He is survived by his wife, Leola Alley of Richmond, Texas; two sons, Randy Alley and wife Connie of Shreveport, La.; Ricky Alley and wife Denise of Sugar Land, Texas; three grandsons, Lee Alley of Katy, Texas; Richard Alley and Brandon Alley both of Sugar Land, Texas.; two grand daughters, Christina Alley of Shreveport, La.; Kelsey Alley of Sugar Land, Texas; other relatives and many good friends.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, a son Richard Claire Alley, and a brother James Scott Alley.
