R. V. Austin, 90 year old farmer and rancher, died Wednesday, November 2, in th eWoodward Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, November 29, 1981 in the Chapel of the Stecher Mortuary. Jake Knight and James pastor of the Woodward 7th Day Adventis Church will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Ray Vaughn Austin was born in Missouri on Marcy 7,1891. In 1901 he moved to Oklahoma to a farm southeast of Tangier and on January 10, 1910 he was married to Ruby Ballinger and she survives. In 1919 they moved to the Oakland community and have made their home there since. He was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Kenneth Austin and R. V. Austin Jr., Woodward, James Autsin, Worthington, Ohio, and Jerry Austin, Malawi, Africa; two daughters, Chrystal Overton, Whitney, Texas, and Myrtle Paph, Houston Texas; 18 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
